Dear Equestrian,
Cotter Equestrian is offering training programs throughout the year
for students who are interested in creating a solid foundation in the
equestrian field. Our intense training program is focused on both horse
and rider. Our facility encourages the serious student to improve their
skills and become a more effective rider and trainer. Students will spend
the day analyzing and understanding riding/training techniques to ensure
proper application. Courses cover centered riding techniques, round pen
training, horse communication, along with lessons in jumping, dressage
and cross country. All aspects of horse care and barn management are
included. Cotter Equestrian Center has a variety of horses at various
levels, which enables the student to see the progression of training.
Day Sessions begin at 9:00 am and end at 5:00 pm. A student may stay
for multiple sessions. Telephone interviews are required. Students may
bring their own horse {Free board included}. Students also need to bring
a lunch and drinks. A typical day:
9:30 Practical Demonstration
10:00 Riding/Training
12:00 Lunch
1:30 Equine theory
2:00 Riding/Training
4:00 Barn Chores
5:00 Depart
The cost is $90 per day. ASTM helmet and boots required
All students must have a secure seat at the walk, trot and canter.
